Government stands firm on Methodists.

leweni

Government and Military spokesperson, Lt-Col Neumi Leweni, said Government is firm about its decision to cancel the Methodist Church annual conference because the church is clearly pushing a political agenda rather than focussing on its core role of promoting spiritual development.

Lt-Col Leweni said the few church members who are pushing a political agenda should learn from the civilian coup of 2000 where many members of the Methodist Church were misled by failed politicians.

“Many members of the church who gathered in Parliament in 2000 were misled by politicians on the guise that they were fighting for indigenous rights. They only took the country backwards,” he said.

Government issued a permit for their meeting last week with conditions, and on the understanding that they will help find a way forward for our nation.

  1. I was given a copy of Rev. Waqairatu’s discussion paper from the last standing committee meeting by a concerned staff member at the Methodist Church HQ. If that is not incitement what is?

  2. I am a Methodist myself and time and time again I’ve been saying that if these clergies want to be politicians, go ahead and join a political party. Stop using the pulpit and the Sunday service as a political campaign venue.

This is why I’m so sick of going to church nowadays because the message of God is no longer preached from the pulpit. The message preached is that of politics.

Why don’t these talatala’s join a political party? Just resign from your Christian calling and join a political party. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3 or a, b, c.

The problem with these talatala’s is that they have classed themselves above God and everyone else in Fiji. This is the reason they cannot look beyond the tip of their nose to realise how misdirected they have become in their true calling.

  3. Yeah, we should free ourselves from talatala’s who no longer perform their Godly calling.

  4. levu tikoga na lotu lasulasu,na kakase,na gunu yaqona vakalialia kei na liumuri ka tadu yani. each one of you sould take a good look at your selfs in the mirror.

  5. Religion and politics are indeed a match made in hell-and do not make good bedfellows.

  6. The People stand firm on Anti-Fijian army leaders

If military people want to get involved in politics and government, they need to stand in an election.

There is no room for politics in the army. If that is the best they can do, they should be disbanded and disarmed as an army so they can stand for election on a level playing field.

I am a soldier myself and time and time again I’ve been saying that if these officers want to be politicians, go ahead and join a political party. Stop using the army and the government as a political campaign venue.

This is why I’m so sick of the army. Nowadays because the role of the soldier is no longer preached from the QEB. The message preached is that of politics.

Why don’t these military officers join a political party? Just resign from your military calling and join a political party. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3 or a, b, c.

The problem with these military officers is that they have classed themselves above God and everyone else in Fiji. This is the reason they cannot look beyond the tip of their nose to realise how misdirected they have become in their true calling.

  7. @ Nostradamus

  8. The closest thing that Nostradamus has handled that resembled a gun is his black boci.

This loser was never in the army, sorry maybe the gay and lesbian army.

  9. Vitivou there is nothing new under the sun . what vitivou are you talking about. Every place where man is involved there is corruption. The people in power are satisfying their own selfish ego and telling blind poeple like you to follow them. Please wake up.

  10. Jokerman, you sound sooooooo GAY so you know what a black boci looks like. Do you spend your time observing those in the back? Or maybe they say if they close their eyes you the bitch will disappear
