HIGH Court Chief Registrar Ana Rokomokoti has denied suggestions that court documents are being destroyed.
Under the Administration of Justice Decree 2009, certain court proceedings named in the Decree that had been filed in court are being discontinued and certificates stating such are being sent to all affected litigants, explained the former magistrate and military lawyer. Those files are then withdrawn from the active file list and archived. They are not being shredded and there is absolutely no intention of destroying any court documents, she assured. Permanent Secretary for Justice Pio Tikoduadua also reaffirmed this. He said no court documents had been nor would be destroyed. The suggestion that court documents are being shredded is misinformation and a completely false and mischievous idea he said.
