RUMOURS that the caretaker government has placed restrictions on Vodafone’s phone and internet services have been denounced by Fiji’s largest mobile telephony company.
“It is mischievous and most unethical on the part of those who are trying to exploit the current situation by spreading false rumors,” Vodafone’s statement read.
“At no point has the interim government interfered with the working of Vodafone.
“We are an independent corporate entity with our own memorandum and articles of association. We respect and fully subscribe to the internationally-accepted mobile communication protocols, most fundamental being freedom of speech and complete confidentiality.”
The company assured all its customers that it continued to offer all its mobile services as normal and without any interference.
