Officers lose jobs

OFFICERS appointed under the 1997 Constitution are deemed to have lost their jobs following the abrogation of the legal document last Good Friday. The officers are the Ombudsman, Supervisor of Elections, Auditor-General, Director of Public Prosecutions, the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji and the Commissioner of Police. The Fiji Human Rights Commission, also established under the 1997 Constitution, remained closed yesterday but no confirmation could be received whether it was due to this.
